After completing undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology, Visual Communications Gary began a career in IT. Starting as a computer operator in the era of mainframe and mini computers, Gary quickly advanced through programmer to IT Manager. Realizing that a growth opportunity in the computer industry was not being well addressed, Gary and his wife and partner started the first computer training company in the state of Arizona. He wasalso instrumental in the creation of the Computer Training Institute at Arizona State University. During this time, Gary also created specialized accounting software fora number of Arizona companies. Returning to California, Gary helped to establish one of the largest private computer training organizations in the San Francisco Bay area. Desiring a more creative outlet, Gary moved into web design and web design training, working with clients in California, Hawaii, and Arizona.
Seeking to move beyond technology, Gary returned to school, became certified in Wellness Counseling/Coaching at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, and embarked on a new career assisting clients to create healthier lifestyles. Gary continued his education and earned a Master of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine from Northcentral University.
For the past 15 years, Gary has focused on lifestyle change. He has continued to be trained or certified in a number of specializations to further enhance his work with people: Wellcoaches’ Wellness Coaching, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Certified Hypnoanesthesiologist, Interactive Guided Imagery, Mind-Body Medicine through the highly respected Center for Mind-Body Medicine, and Solutions Focused Business Professional Coach. Gary is also holds a certification as Faculty by WELCOA (Wellness Council of America), the premier resource for workplace wellness in America. To expand his coaching services, Gary also received training as a Nutritionist through the University of California at San Francisco, Vanderbilt University, and University of Florida.
